Engine races and will not idle

Changed my spark plugs on my 1997 Town&Country
Chrysler van (3.8L-122,000 Miles). Started it
afterwards and the engine will not idle but races and
i haven't found the reason. Dont know if the change
of spark plugs has any thing to do with the engine
racing but thought i'd ask. P.S. I did have to raise the plenum in order to get to the plugs. Thanks.
