Vehicle is equipped with Automatic Tempurature Control (ATC) (climate control)

Blower only runs at high speed and can not be adjusted. If I shut off the power to the ATC system, what sounds like the recirculation fan starts and can not be adjusted - so the blower is running regardless. I have tested the blower relay and it appears to be fine. Could this be the Blower Motor Resistor? Apparently the ATC systems use what is called a Blower Power Module, rather than just a blower motor resistor. Is it likely this Power module is the problem? Please advise what may be causing this problem.
Thanks!

Blower motor resistor (module) is bad!
The ATC calls for a part that is more expensive and a little harder to find. OriginalOEM # has been changed to 5179985AA you can also look for Standard RU399 The prices for these range anywhere from 60.00 to 150.00 Why? Dont know!
If you have a local auto wrecker yard that carries this vehicle with the ATC (good luck) you will pay about 20.00 and wont have to wait for shipping!
5 minute fix. After you find the part
Pull down glove box (push in outer tabs to let it down) and there it is! Two 8Mil screws unplug the 2 harness and replace with new. Done! Waalaa!

Hello,

On vehicles equipped with the automatic temperature control, there is no blower motor resistor. This function gets controlled by the temperature control module.

It does sounds like the ATC is faulty.
Just like a resistor this module can fail on the function for the blower speed and can only have one speed. Typically, the full speed will work and not the other speeds.

The ATC is located behind the glove box. To access it open the glove box. Flex both sides of the glove box bin inward near the top far enough for the rubber glove box stop bumpers to clear the sides of the glove box opening, then roll the glove box downward.

Vehicles with rear A/C has two of these modules

I have attached the diagrams and replacement instructions below.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
