When the car gets to around 50 miles per hour the engine will not shift to the higher gear. I know there are two sensors I replaced one time that resolved this problem around the 55,000 mile mark. The sensors apparently have magnets on the end of them that get worn or burned that dont allow the engine to shift. I cant remember what these parts are called, they are fairly inexpensive to buy and replace by myself versus taking it to a repair center.

Can you help me remember what these parts are, I believe there are two of them and they screw in the outside of the transmission.

Are you sure this is the same problem? Normally, the computer will detect a sensor problem and will default the transmission to second gear. It will be very sluggish when leaving a stop sign.

These are the input speed sensor and output speed sensor.

We took it to Auto Zone and the code indicates the speed sensor, the part was $18.00 so we will try that first and hopefully that will fix it. Thanks for your response.
