Car Alarm

I have a 1996 Chrysler Sebring SJI that sat over the winter and the battery was completely dead. I replaced the battery but everytime I try to start the car the alarm goes off. The car starts but shuts off right away. I did not get a keyless entry when I bought it used and Ive tried everything to reset the alarm with no luck. Everytime I turn the key on the alarm keeps goin off and the car starts but shuts off. Please help!

Hello. This same problem happened with my Cirrus. It is your anti-theft which is keeping you from starting your car (it activates when the alarm goes off). To correct the problem in my car, I have to get out of the car, close the door, and manually lock and unlock the door with my key (sadly I also lack the keyless entry, which could also be used to deactivate the alarm). Hopefully this manual method is the similar for your car- also consult you car's owner's manual, which could also give some useful information.
