I am looking for a second car for Fl. Interested in 2000-2004 Sebring convtibles.. Concerned about the longivity of the timing belt in these models. I've been told they are very expensive to change. Can you give me any advice on this subject.

The timing belt replacement in a 2002 sebring convertible 2.4L is not too bad expensive, only around $300 including parts. The 2002 sebring convertible 2.7L, however, has 3 timing chains. They take over twice the time to replace which means over double the repair bill, but timing chains are made to last the life of the engine so they don't need replaced at intervals like timing belts.
