I own a 2001 pt cruiser lmt edition. About 2 months ago the car would not start when turned over. But after a couple minutes tried again, and it started. This problem happened a few more times before finally not starting. I let the car sit for a day, still did not start. So I finally called a tow, went out, and the car started. Took it in to get serviced. They ran two diagnostics and found nothing.I replaced the starter jus as a procausionary measure. Ran well for a month. Now the problem has resurfaced. Runs well most of the time, then out of the blue, stuck. Wont start right away, but starts sooner or later. Repair shop still has no clue, was hoping maybe you folks could help. Thanks

Next time it refuses to start do below right then there to determine if its fuel or spark issue

Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine atleast 3/16 away from ground-have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, cap and rotor, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it and keep testing
