When I turn steering wheel ever so slightly to the right there a loud thumping noise. If I make a full turn to the left or right no problem. Just when I turn half inch or so to right. What could it be?

Hello,

There could be several factors for a suspension noise.
It could be the tie rod end makes that noise. Also the CV shaft can trigger noise if it is loose.
First do a visual inspection of the front suspension. Look for any damaged or broken components.

Go thru this article it mentions the typical issues that could make that noise.

Let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
