1996 Dodge Dakota Club Cab.3.9L V6. Orignally the truck would not start and check engine light came on. Replaced wires, plugs, cap, rotor, coil, oil, air filter, breather filter, pcv, actuator idle speed control. Battery. After first changing the idle speed control truck would start and sound right but when got to odle speed would die. Check engine light was off now the check engine light stays on and dies once gets to idle. Any ideas?

Well M. Jeff if your 96 truck is anything like my 90 3.9L. My truck would go good down the road but once I had to idle my truck it would die. Had to cycle ingnition to restart it. Replaced many parts that you did though u didn't say map sincere which it could be. To see if it is, locate map sincere and unplugg it well truck is off. IF it runns just fine after doing so then that should the problem. Also if your truck is carburatered it will should contain two injectors, one for idleing and the other for well going down the road. To check to see if it is the injectors just swap the wires on the injectors. If it idles just find and stumbles when gas is pushed then it is the injector.
This is what I came accross myself and I hope it works for u. Reply if it works or if u got any more? Jess P
