Noises problem
2001 Chysler Grand Voyager Engine Size unknown Front Wheel Drive Automatic 81000 miles

Hi, I have had my Voyager for just over a month now, and have become worried after noticing that when the car is warm I hear a tappet noise from the engine. It's only heard when the car is warm, I pt some hydraulic lifter cleaner in the engine oil, which has not affected it much. Infact it has started to really noisey now, especially when warm, Please put me out of my misery and give me a solution, hopefully a cheap one? Could it be the oil intake pipe or pump which maybe bfull of sludge? The oil in the engine is very clear and like new! Please help!

Hi:

I'm not sure what you put in it, but it may have thined the oil more. Have the oil changed with the manufacurer's recommended oil weight 5W30 or 10W30 based on where you live. If that quiets it down, great. If it starts again, the rocker arms may need adjusted. Is the oil light coming on? If not, the oil pressure should be sufficient.

Let me know what happens.

Joe
