Car runs for 2 miles then quits, once cooled down, you can drive it again then it quits. It has a slight knocking sound. A technician said its timing chain. What is wrong with it? Other than this, is this a reliable car?

A timing chain can make a ratteling noise, but it won't cause this problem. Has the check engine light come on? Also, when this happens, have you checked for spark and fuel to the engine?
