1988 Chevy Van loose streering columm

How can I fix the loose streering column? The problem is that it is has a tilt steering ability but it just recently started to also move from side to side

You advertized FREE. If I do not donate at this time does this mean that I would have to wait until the steering wheel falls off and ends up killing my family?

Hi there,

People who make a donation have there questions prioritised, as you can well imagine, if you donated, would you like to be left in the queue? As I am the only moderator on line at the moment, and based in Australia, I am not that familiar with your car, but as you seem so concerned, may I suggest that you have a look under the dash at the steering column mounts, I would think that there would be 2 or 3 pick up points, and see if they are loose, if so tighten as best you can and go see a mechanic to have the column inspected to make sure it is safe. The last thing we want is to have you or your family put at risk.
