I have a 1986 Chevy c10 1/2 ton 4wd with a 350 small block v8. I recently have redone the valvecover and manifold gaskets, new spark plugs and wires and an oil change. My question is that when I let my truck idle, it seems to be ok, but when I dive it, it smokes alot, and I meen alot! It seems to be coming from the motor and the exaust, what is wrong with my truck? Help please!

Check the PCV valve. The engine temperature is it getting hotter than usual?

Have some one start it up and raise the rpm to 2500- look at the engine. Probably its still leaking oil and dropping on the exhaust manifold-look behind the distributor and front of the intake-

Something tells me that the rubber gasket slip off or the end to it is not sealedwhen re-installing the intake manifold

Try retorquing it down follow the correct pattern and ft lbs.

Check the oil pressure sending unit its right beside the distributor and recheck the valve cover gasket.

That's the only plact it will leak oil from unless you your rear seal is gone. Gotta look at it good.
