I have a 1998 3/4 ton silverado 4x4 pickup. 200,000 miles, 2500series, 5.7 engine. I need instructions to remove and replace the pitman arm.

First, you will need a pitman arm puller, the right sized socket, and possibly a tie rod fork. Seperate the ball-joint end of the arm, undo the large nut at the bottom os the sector shaft, install the puller and torque it down and tap the pitman arm with a hammer as you tighten the tool. Will eventaully pop off!
