I have a chevy pickup that I bought brand new in 2006. I sustained a busted axel, so my truck set up for about 8 months before I repaired it. I have since placed a new axel and when I went to get my truck inspected it failed. The guys told me that I need to drive it for about 90 miles and bring it back to them. I did and the next day, today, I took it back for another recheck to pass inspection and it failed again. The computer is not resetting. What reason could it be? Also, the battery was dead and I replaced it before taking it for the first inspection. Again, the computer won't reset.

Thank you

Are you saying the check engine light comes on and stays on?

No, there is no check engine light on. It actually says "not ready" when inspection was tried. But, again, I have driven it well past the miles needed. I don't know what to do.
Thank you

Okay. What that means is that an OBD test is incomplete. There should be a commands feature in the tool that will tell you which test is incomplete.

Once we know which test is incomplete, we can resolve that. You may need someone with a scan tool capable of doing that.

Okay, I will see about getting a scan tool somewhere. I will go from there. I appreciate everything you have said in helping me.

Okay, I have found that the scan says the Catalyst is not ready, also the Evap is not ready. Previous to this it had said the O2 sensor was not ready however, it is saying it is ready now with the second scan check.

What do I do from here so I can pass inspection and get myself back on the road as I am a college student and I got to have my vehicle.

Thank you, you have been such a great help.
