We just put a remanufactured motor from a 92 chevy van into my 85 Chevy truck. We are trying to keep the EFI, in other words we took the motor and trans directly out of the van and into the truck. The mechanic installed a Holly Blue fuel pump and after less than 1000 miles, it stopped working. Leaving me stranded.
How should we achieve a successfull EFI switch? We tried a Carter inline fuel pump first, the mechanic says we need 15 PSI so that didnt work. Please help.

This is a very complicated problem, I think what you have to do is remove the fuel tank from the van and install it in the truck, trying to find a fuel pump with the right pressure is going to be difficult, I believe the fuel tank will be pretty close to the original truck tank.
