Electrical problem
1966 Chevy Truck 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 156K miles

My son has inherited my fathers c10. It sat for three years after he restored it and now we have replaced bulbs and shook out the cobwebs BUT the back up lights do not work with or w/o the headlamps on, the tail lamps do not come on with headlamps, the brakes lights do not work while headlamps are on but will work without headlamps on. The tag light does come on with the headlamps. The dome light does work. The only other thing that is strange is that the wipers will stop in the "up" position (I don't remember that ever happening before/not sure if that is normal) once they are turned off. If I turn them off while in the off position, they will return to stop in the up position if I hit a bump. Also the front running lights in the hood come on with the headlamp switch pulled half way out and go off when the switch is all the way out and the headlamps turn on. The horn is not hooked up at the fuse box but is wired otherwise. No radio hooked up and I can't think of anything else to add other than the gauges work. Please help, we are lost.

If it's not to late guys, the taillights have ground issues at the light mounting points(body/chassis ground). The wiper motor needs to be re-indexed to the off position, and the front running lights are working perfectly, they only work in the mid position, otherwise, they are the turn signals. If the ground is not the issue with the tail lights, try the brake light switch under the dash. Hope this helps!

No, not too late. Appreciate any info. Will try new brake switch Saturday and let you know. Have been looking for a ground issue (needle in haystack). Thanks again.
