86 Blazer heater resistor

I have an 86 full size Blazer 140,000 miles with a 350 that I have to keep changeing the resistor for the heater. After about a month when you turn it on it only works on high after you tap on the heater solinoid. After replacing the resistor it works fine

I would check the wiring to the resistor, fan and switch for shorts, there is a problem there somewhere causing the resistor to fail

Could be but the best thing to do is check resistance on both this will tell you where you stand.
