My husband just put a motor in my vehicle and it will not fire nor will the gear shift move. He wired evrything back up the way he thought it come out and nothing, we replaced the wiring box to transmission, any suggstions

Okay, lets work on getting it started first. After that, we'll move to the shifter. First, is the starter working? Is he getting spark and fuel to the engine?
