Some are in the fuel tank and not serviceable. From the Book:

FUEL FILTER
This vehicle has a lifetime fuel filter built into the fuel sender inside the tank and thus is not serviceable separately. The fuel filter is not a replaceable part.

The databases are not always correct. The one I looked at says, under the vehicle, driver side, attached to the frame rail, near gas tank. May be attached to inside of frame rail. Do not take any fuel lines loose without being sure there is no pressure on the fuel system.

How do I remove the fuel filter from a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe? I have the threaded end loose but I cannot get the pressure fitting on the other side to release the filter.

If this car has one the fuel filter in under the car. Here is a guide and a video to help you replace the fuel filter and release the lines:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-change-a-fuel-filter

and its for a different car but they have the same fuel lines.

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
