Why did you change the air control valve?
What is the fuel pressure?
What is the condition of the plugs? What type of plugs are in it?

I changed the air control valve because I thought that would be the problem.
There's nothing wrong with the plugs they are brand new
and the fuel pressure is fine

it is only on start up. The first time I give it gas when I turn it on the motor stalls but if I give gas again it accelerated fine

Just changing things without testing and confirming that they are good or bad will cost you money and time.
GM ignition systems are designed for A/C Delco spark plugs. If you installed anyother type of plug - change them, no matter how old they are or how they look."Beeeeeeelieve me"
Just saying the fuel pressure is fine does not mean that it is good. Test the fuel pressure -- what psi is it?
Test the throttle position sensor (tps).
