1994 Chevy Suburban wont start or run only at certain times

1994 chev suburban 1500 4x4 5.7. Wont start or run at random times. Has new wires, rotor, cap plugs, air filter. Changed all of these a week ago. Started right up after tune up and ran fine for a week. Drove a little ways after work and it died Wont start again. Sprayed starting fluid into carb and it wanted to fire just a little, wouldnt start though. Didnt seem to stumble at all when it has been running, did notice the tach flicking up and down only at time. Truck is down right now. Timming chain is original, could that be a issue, maybe it jumped. NEED HELP ASAP Thanks, Steve. 406-260-2367.

Start with the basics, and work your way up, Last tune up was? Wires plugs ALL filters? If all that is ok, check for a stuck EGR, then test fuel pump pressure, If it won't restart, determine what's missing, the engine needs three things to run, Spark at all plugs, gas to all cylinders, and compression in all cylinders, tho an engine may run lacking one in one cylinder, it won't run very well!

Cross these two terminals as shown with a piece of wire, then turn the key on. Count the flashes, a 22 will flash as 2 flashes then a short pause, then 2 flashes, if more than one code is stored, the pause will be longer. The codes will display three times and end with 12.
