The Brake booster in my truck failed to weeks ago, I had the car towed to a GM dealer, since it was under warrenty, when I picked up the car, I learened that they also replaced the intermediate shaft in the steering column, when I asked why they said that it was worn out. That same day while driving, I began to hear a squealing noise whenever I turned left, I brought the truck back and they said it was the power steering pump, they took the truck and in two hours they told me they replaced the pump, and it fixed the noise, after I took the truck the noise came back that night, my warrenty is covering this but it is a hassle to bring the truck back every week, please help if you think you know what the problem is. The Truck is currently in the dealership again, for the same thing are they doing something wrong or, are they misdiagnosing the problem

When the power steerign pump is changed, does that seem to solve the problem for a few days? Hows your fluid? Check the hoses for leaks also.

Post back.

I just picked the car up from the dealership again today and they still have not fixed the problem. They now say that they have also changed the gear box and steering rack, the service manger says that if that doesn't fix the problem then they don't know what is wrong

Back on 12/26 they say that they did replace the power steering pump, this did silence the noise for a couple days but then it came back louder then before, which is why I dropped it off again on 1/2.

I am now having to send the car to a different dealership, because I am worried that these people are replacing parts here and there because they know that they can charge the warrenty people, and never will really fix the problem, any advice would be appreciated

Thanks

Sounds to me like the power steering pump, but you should get a oppinion from a different place as the first ones are unable to help you.
