2006 Chevy Silverado engine won't turn over

I ahve a Silverado 2500 pick-up. I turn on the key and can hear a click, but the engine won't turn over. The other electrical systems seem to work fine. I replaced the battery but it did not help.

Hi Jim,

Since all you get is a click when you turn the key to start, most likely it's the starter. If you are able remove the starter and take it to your local parts store and have them bench test it.

Is there anything special I need to know about removing the starter from a 2006 Silverado 2500 with a 6L engine and 4WD?

Nothing special, just make sure you Disconnect the Battery before removing the electrical connections on the starter.
