Check the water pump. On the front, off to the side, there is a seep hole. It starts to leak when it is getting bad. On my 99 silverado, I noticed the reserve tank would drop an inch and no moisture. I looked under and noticed a white outline on the oil pan. Replaced the water pump. Problem fixed.

I had the same problem with my 2000 silverado. Low coolant light kept coming on and reservoir was low when I checked. No visible signs of leak. Tested the water line pressure it was low, here the water pump was leaking. Replaced the water pump and the problem was fixed. The dealership gave an estimate of $1,000 for parts/labor. I recommend if you can do it yourself to do so to save a few bucks.
