Can I put an inline fuel pump on my 01 2500hd with out removing the old intank pump

Why? Is the stock pump not working? If it is not, an "Inline" pump will not pull fuel past the stock pump (stock pump has to rotate to allow fuel to be pressurized and pushed through the orifice of the stock pump body). What is the issue with the stock pump of your Chevy?
