2000 Chevy Silverado steering locking up

When 1st started and backing out of the driveway, the steering will lock and become very notchy when turned to the right. Gearbox or P/S pump? Flushed the system with BG kit and no help.

Does it feel like the lock is coming on or does it feel more like a component locking up in the front end? Have you checked u-joints and CV joints?

Found tsb on pump and gear box same symptoms applied. Gear box fixed it.
