Usually the service 4x4 light will come on to insure that the system gets serviced and inspected for part failure.A simple check of fluids and 4x4 system will put your mind at rest about it, but gm made to where you have to have a tech 2 or higher level scanner to reset this warning light. Most chevy dealers will resetthis for you for free.
