My 1998 Chevy Silverado won't start. There is fuel getting to the engine, but it won't turn over. I thought that maybe the security feature has been engaged, but I am starting to think that something else is wrong. Do you have any suggestions on what I can try to see what the problem actually is? I don't want to shell out $300 for a new fuel pump if that is not the problem that I am having. Please Help!

I have a 1998 as well and am having starting difficulties. Try disconnecting the battery for a while then (hour or two) then starting again. This temporarily fixes mine.

Does yours fire up at all? Mine (when I am having the troubles) fires up but then dies after running for 1-2 seconds. Ive heard everything from a computer problem to anti-theft to something with the steering column. I dont know what the real problem is but I just dont want to drop 5-600 bucks for something that may not even fix the problem.
