SUDDENLY LOST 3RD AND DRIVE IN TRANSMISSION changed fluid and filter and had no results, there was no warning, drove fine on Friday going home from work, didn't have the gears on Monday morning, didn't drive over the weekend. Check engine light is now on constantly. Still driving vechicle in 2nd, only transportation to work. Any idea's?

If the check engine light is on, there is a trouble code stored in the computer. Take the truck to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer. IT may identify where the trans problem is coming from. NOTE: Most parts stores will scan for free, so there is no money out of pocket.

Let me know what you find.

The following codes came up when it was scanned:
P0442 - small leak/ no flow condition

P1870 - Transmission component slipping
Transmission is in 4th gear with TCC engaged and the ECM has detected excessive slippage when comparing the input shaft speed to the output shaft speed
