On my 98 chev 350 vortec, we have been hearing some clicking in the dash when the brake is applied. Ans just today all of a sudden we have no brake lights. Still have park and turn lights though. We think it is the neutral saftey but would it cause the brake lights to not work? We have checked all fuses and relays.

Hello,

It sounds like the issue is a faulty brake light switch.
The brake light switch is located under the brake pedal. When the pedal gets depressed, the switch gets triggered, and the brake lights turn on.
Due to wear and tear the switch can malfunction.

Here is a video that covers the basics of a brake light switch:

I have attached diagrams for the brake light switch replacement.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
