Truck seemed fine but driving home one day I felt the trans slipping from startoff, when I got home, next morning when I get ready to go I dont have reverse, slipping in low gear too, do I need a trans and if so will one out of a 99 with 5.3l fit?

Hello,

Have you check the Tranny Fluid for Color, Order and Level?

Also is engine light on? If so need to get codes read. Your local parts store will do it and usually for free. Post codes here.

Is you 97 a 5.3.

Is the 2000 2wd or 4wd. If 4wd it won't work.

Not sure if would if otherwise would need nore info on both vehicles to determine.

Need.

Year - Month and Year

Make -

Model -

Sub-Model -

Engine Size (Liters) -

Vin # -

On both vehicles. The 2000 may have a more electronic tranny than the 97.
