I have a 1995 Silverado, for the last two weeks it has been shutting down on me while driving down the road, when it does I have to coast to a stop, on the side of the road. It will always re-crank immediately, but sometimes it will go less than a mile and do it again, always restarting when I try. Saturday I went fishing before dawn, and it did it while pulling my boat. The headlights went off, the motor shut down and the warning lights on the dash came on but it did restart when I tried. I came home in the afternoon and it did not do it a single time. Any help will be appreciated.

Humm it is either loss of spark or fuel. Did you set a check engine light prior or after the shutdown? More than likely it will be the ignition module. It does that when it gets hot and is on the near side of failure.

Do check you battery cables especially the grounds. Remove and clean all grounds battery to engine, engine to firewall and battery to frame. (Shiny clean)
