1992 Chevy Silverado gears

I have a 1992 K1500 with low-3rd gear and overdrive. I don't know the gear ratios but they are stock. I don't need these low of gears for my use as I never use low or sometimes 1st. Is there a way to increase the gearing to improve milage? I now get 12-13 mpg.

Your best bet would be to buy a 5 or 6 speed tranny and install it. Not really any other way then to get better gas mileage, unless you take it in and have the whole thing regeared at a tranny shop but a cheap alternative would be buy a 5 or 6'er and throw it in.
