Some crazy stuff plz hep I need this truck

Hello I got a 94 s10 chevy and well I went to start my truck up today and well she didnt start didnt even make a clicking noise on my starter but when I was trying to start it up smoke came from ym steering collom and and so I took my starter off rehooked up the wire that fell of and now my keys dont even have to be in the truck and if I put the pos cable to the pos battey termenal it sparks bad and it actully trys to turn the truck over and yet my keys are in my pocket so plz help me this is my work truck thank you

Sound like the ignition switch had a meltdown and it essentially stuck in the on postion.

How easy or hard are they to replace and I got one more question if it is stuck in the on position will that cause my truck not to start just to try to start and thank you for your help

Well, depending on what it is doing, bad wire, shorted? The smoke from the steering column is a symptom that needs to be checked. The wheel has to be pulled. IF your comfortable with tearing into the steering column, go for it, if not, have a shop do it.
