I have a 2001 Chevy S-10 Crew Cab which was running fine yesterday. Today while I was driving the engine went dead. The truck starts with no problems but when I try to drive it the engine dies. Several people have told me it's probably my catalytic converter. Do you agree and if so how do I check it?

Scan the engine for codes first then check your fuel pressure. Then when it is idling check your vacuum if it's below 15" it may be the converter. But it could also be the spider under the manifold that puts fuel to the different cylinders.
