2001 Chevy S-10 alternator going?

My alternator seem to be shutting off (voltage meter drops to around 12-13 volts), but if I floor it for a few seconds while driving, it kicks back in. Could this be my serpentine belt slipping or is it unfortunately my alternator?

Could be slipping bcuz the tensioner is acting up or the computer controlled field generation of the alternator
