Average cost will vary based on what components need replaced. However, I would estimate aprox 3000.00 for a complete rebuild. Is there a reason you just don't replace the head gaskets?

I was told that since all my coolant went straight into my oil that it may have ruined other engine parts. My oil was a thick white goo. I was driving on highway when the gasket blew. I also figured with over 100000 thousand miles how long till I have another mechanical breakdown

I have 221K on a Dakota. It still runs strong. The engine in your truck are great engines. Was there any knocking or ticking before you shut it down the last time?

No ticking or knocking that I noticed. I already started taking the engine apart and I did find the ground electrode bent up against the center of the spark plug. I believe from the cylinder where the gasket failed. I've never seen that before.

Slowly but shurely all thats left are the heads. When I drained my oil I believe that just about all my coolant was in the pan. Could all that fluid rushing into cylinder cause the plug to be bent? I am thinking about bringing truck to a shop. Im doing this in my driveway and time is not on my side.
