every now and then my truck wont start, as I start the engine I get no sound, it wont turn over, I finally figured it out that when I open my hood and slam it shut, my truck starts, im thinking there may be some loose wires or something, what can I do, to prevent this from happening?

Check your connections at the battery. See if the battery is leaking at the post. If the are dirty clean them. If it is leaking replace the battery. If those look ok check your connection at the starter and see if it is tight.
