1999 Chevy S-10 Truck won't start

1999 Chevy S-10 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

When I place the key in the ignition and turn it I get a loud click but the starter does not turn the engine over. Starter is not defective. Unit fails to start.

Hello well first check to see if you have a good connection at the battery and the power wire that goes to the starter is tight if not this may be the clicking sound you are hearing when trying to start.
