1999 Chevy S-10 starter will not engage

I have an 99 S10 with the ignition fully engaged I hear a click but the starter does nothing. The headlights do not dim nor does it dim any interior lighting. Could the selonoid be stuck or a loose wire?

Could be the starter motor, starter relay, transmission position switch and ignition switch assuming the battery and connections are good.

Do this have helper hold key in cranking position and bang on the starter if it engages the engine-replace the starter motor
