Hello. This truck has had a problem holding a charge. Due in part to interior light would stay on. Battery was charged, I was driving, voltage indicator was showing positive and then suddenly dropped to no charging. When jumped truck would start, however as soon as I take off the cables the truck dies.
Voltage regulator, alternator or battery. Battery not more than 4 years old. I think voltage regulater due to will not continue to run when take cables off.
Help. Thank you, Kate

Four years is a long time for a battery that could be bad as well as your alternator. What I would do is take your battery out have it charged and tested if it test's good put it back in. If it test's bad replace it then start your truck back up and let it idle take a volt meter across postive and negative of the battery and see how many volts you have. Let me know what you find.
