1987 Chevy S-10 vapor lock?

Hi my names chris and recently my chevy s-10 ran out of gas. I have a broke fuel guage and neglected to keep on track with refueling. Anyways thats not my problem, my problem is, now when I go to the gas station to fill the tank up the nossle clicks off as if my tank is already full, I have tryed three diffrent gas stations and the same happens each time. Iam stumped can anyone help?

Hello chris!

First thing to check is if the filler hose is cranked, if not then you should check your vapor check valve and the vapor hoses up to the canister, if nothing is wrong with it it may be a bad carbon canister.
