My brake lights (both) don't work. My directionals are fine, but when I put the brake on the lights don't work. They both started at the same time, the fuse is ok.

I had the same problem with my 98 Lumina. I had to replace the turn signal switch. It had a short in it and when you put the blinker on it caused the brake lights to go out. Check your turn signal, let someone stand behind your vehicle and hold your foot on the brakes and move your turn signal knob up and down and back and forth and see if your brake lights come on at all. If so, replace the turn signal switch in the steering column.
