Occasionally, but not regularly, after engine has been running, unable to restart. There is no "clicking" sound. Starter is usually hot to touch. New starter has been installed. Acts like no electrical current getting to the starter. However, other electrical components appear to all be working. Battery connections are okay.

Is there some type of starter relay that may "kick out" if get too hot? Where if any would I locate this relay? If it is a coil problem, would the engine turn over in atempting to start?

The wiring diagram shows no relays for an automatic transmission. Yours goes from the ignition switch to the nuetral switch to the starter. Make sure your battery terminals are clean and your ground is good as alot of times when you have a "hot soak" it's a ground not making good contact. That is what you describe.
