I have a 77 chevy nova the has had a 350 put in it with some extras. It wont start and im getting smoke from the 4 barrel carb. It ran fine just a day ago but now started for a second and ran really rough. Then it just quit and wouldent start again. What can I do to get it started?

Look for spark-disconnect a sparkplug wire and ground it to the engine while cranking it over-are you getting spark? If not could be the coil/ignition control module, pick-up coil in the distributor or power input to the coil from ignition switch.
