Ok I flushed the sysem, replaced the thermostat, checked all hoses and replaced one with a crack in it, I even flushed the heater core. The heat worked for about a week and now there is no heat. Sometimes it also starts to over heat then it drops down to normal. Can this be the temp. Sending unit or heater core going bad. I also notice I have to fill the reservoir every couple of days. I have no smells or leaks in the car. I even bled the air out after refilling. I'm ready to just sell the car for 500 bucks and call it a day. Its cold and I need heat.

If it isn't leaking externally, then it must be internally.

I would compression test all the cylinders. If they come out fine. I would put the cooling system under pressure over night and then slowly pull the drain plug for the oil to see if a possible intake manifold gasket is leaking. Coolant will drop down to the bottom of the oil pan when they separate.
