I just bought an 86 Monte Carlo with a 5.0L 305 V8 and it sounds like it runs great, the only issue is that the service engine soon light is always on. I can't seem to figure out why? Any suggestions?

Hi Matt,

You will need to get the codes read. You can purchase an obd1 code reader at your local auto parts store for about $30 or so. Or you can order one from us at the link below.

It may just be an O2 Sensor, just wont know till get codes read.

Matt,

We had a similiar problem. Try to make sure the gas cap is firmly seated. If necessay, get a new gas cap.

Takes about 1 week for problem to go away.
