About 4 miles before my factory warranty expired we had the entire steering colum changed cause it kept loosing power steering. Now at 76K for a while Ive noticed a popping noise and when I turn the vehicle. I can also feel it. It has been doing this for several thousand miles I belive. My wife drives the car and I recently returned from Iraq and I don't drive the car so she never told me about it. Anyways, could it be the tie rods or something possibly more serious?

There is an updated rack and pinion that needs to be installed. Call your local dealer

What price range should I expect this update to cost? I've got the exact same problem with my 2005 6cyl, 103000 miles.
