2004 Chevy Malibu Signal lights

After I make a turn and the signals stop, there is still a flasher sound. The signal arrows do not appear on the dash and I do not believe the signals themselves are on, just the sound. As I am driving along on a straight away, the click will intermittantly occur. What would cause this?

sounds like you have a faulty signal/flasher unit which is common to fail in these vehicles. It is located at the base of the hazard switch itself.
