Problem description: When the key is turned to the run position, the instrument panel dials move quickly to the top and then fall back down in increments. If, when the key is in the run position, it is returned to the off position, there is a slight delay before the dials drop to the bottom. In the start position, the starter does not turn over, however there is a click-click-click sound.

What has been done so far: The dealership replaced the ignition switch about a month ago because the chip inside was broken (triggered theft system). The starter assembly was replaced today. When the battery was connected after installation, it started up fine (the battery had been disconnected for about 3 days). However, when an attempt was made to start the car later on, the above problem occurs.

Any idea what I could try next?

Need to start at the starter and work backwards. Is the battery voltage good? If good, it could be a bad starter/solenoid. Check for 12 volts at the small wire on the starter with key in crank position. If it has power then the starter needs to be replaced. If none, then get back to me and we will figure out where it stops. Also remove/bypass any aftermarket alarms that may be installed on thevehicle.
